Old Sodbury FC Seal League Title in Remarkable Season

Old Sodbury FC champions of the Bristol Premier League Division One have completed a remarkable season, securing promotion to the next division. Last season, the club finished second from bottom. However, hard work, consistent performances, and strong team spirit delivered a deserved title‑winning campaign.

Title Clinched with Crucial Win Over Pucklechurch

Old Sodbury secured the championship with a vital win against Pucklechurch on Saturday 11th April. That result gave the team an unassailable lead at the top of the league table.

The first half proved difficult. However, Old Sodbury stepped up after the break. Archie Williams scored twice, helping the team to an emphatic 4–0 victory. Consequently, the club sealed the league title with two games still to play.

A Run of Dominant Performances

The title success came after a series of strong performances throughout the season.

  • Lions FC (Away): A comfortable 6–1 win in late February
  • Oldland (Away): A dominant 5–0 victory, with five different goal scorers
  • Hambrook (Away): A composed and convincing 4–0 win
  • Chipping Sodbury Reserves (Local Derby): Played in front of more than 100 supporters, Old Sodbury delivered a superb 8–0 victory. Charlie Davies scored four goals and earned a well‑deserved Man of the Match award
  • Hanham (1st April): A solid 4–0 win, with Charlie Davies scoring twice to take his season total to 30 goals

Earlier in the season, the away match at Pucklechurch also played a key role. Old Sodbury scored late to grind out a valuable 2–0 victory.

The club extends huge credit to the management team of Liam Cook, Jack Dando, and Neil Bennett. Their leadership, preparation, and commitment guided the squad throughout the season and helped drive this success.
