For more than 30 years, Southern Plasticlad has been a trusted local name, providing high-quality windows, doors and roofing to homes across the region. But this year, the company’s community spirit has extended well beyond the building trade — right onto the football pitch.

When Old Sodbury Football Club, a team with over 100 years of history, faced the risk of folding due to financial difficulties and a dwindling squad, club members turned to Jon Thompson, the company’s director and village resident, for help.

Jon didn’t hesitate to get involved.

“Old Sodbury FC has been part of this village for generations,” said Jon. “As a local business, we feel it’s important to give something back to the community that has supported us for so long.”

Southern Plasticlad’s sponsorship gave the club a vital boost — funding new kits, equipment, and improved facilities. The support helped attract a new manager and a fresh team of young, enthusiastic players, breathing life back into the historic club.

The turnaround has been nothing short of inspirational. From sitting at the bottom of the league last season, Old Sodbury FC now leads the table, rekindling excitement and community pride across the village.
